Deadlines

For applicants from European countries:

Step 1: Online registration

Your application for the BAP takes place via the admission platform of the University of Luxembourg. Here you must register online in compliance with the above-mentioned deadlines.

Step 2: Application documents

After your online registration, you must upload the following documents, a.o.: 

• your letter of motivation
• your curriculum vitae in tabular form
• your transcripts from your last three years of school
• your "Diplôme de fin d'études secondaires" or an equivalent diploma
• if applicable, the recognition of your non-Luxembourg secondary school leaving diploma
• if applicable, language certifactes

Please note: The evaluation of your application (acceptance, rejection or invitation to an additional selection interview) will only take place after at least the following documents have been uploaded:

• your letter of motivation
• your curriculum vitae in tabular form
• your transcripts from your last three years of school
• your "Diplôme de fin d'études secondaires" or an equivalent diploma

If you receive your school-leaving diploma, for example, at the beginning of July 2023, your application cannot be assessed before then, even if all the other documents are available.
Processing fee: The University of Luxembourg charges a processing fee of 50 EUR per application for a study programme. In case of a successful application, the processing fee will be deducted from the enrolment fee of the first semester. The processing fee is not refundable if the application is rejected.

Letter of Motivation

Please make sure that your letter of motivation contains meaningful answers to the following questions.

Please describe your school career and your curriculum vitae:

1. In what way, do you think, your school career will have a positive impact on possible future studies in psychology?
2. Which of your personal experiences, activities or occupations could contribute to a positive assessment of your application?

Please give detailed reasons for your personal interest in studying psychology:

1. What fascinates you about the Bachelor's programme in pychology?
2. What are your personal expectations of studying psychology?
3. What other Bachelor's programmes in psychology would you consider?
4. Which alternative degree programme or subject would be suitable for you?

Please explain what you know about the studies in psychology:

1. How and where did you inform yourself about studying psychology?
2. Which courses within the study programme are you particularly interested in and why?
3. The Bachelor of Science in Psychology is an empirical-scientific study programme. What are your ideas about this?

As you know, you are applying for a trilingual degree programme. Therefore, you can use the German language and/or the French language and the English language for the letter of motivation:

• You can write a monolingual letter of motivation - in this case, please write either in German or in French.
• You also have the option of writing a bilingual letter of motivation (German/French, German/English; French/English).
• Or you can write a trilingual letter of motivation (German/French/English).

A letter of motivation written exclusively in English will not be accepted.
We do not specify a number of pages for the letter of motivation, but we assume that a convincing application cannot be less than two pages.

Step 3: Interview (does not apply to applicants who have either already been accepted or rejected after step 2)

Applicants who have not already been accepted or rejected after step 2 will also be invited to an personal, possibly multilingual, interview of about 30 minutes.

Invitation

The invitation to the interview will be sent to the email address provided during the online registration. Please enter an email address that you consult regularly - this will ensure that you do not miss the invitation to the  interview. To be on the safe side, please also be sure to check the spam folder of your email inbox regularly!

Step 4: Feedback of the study programme

Applicants who have been accepted or rejected after step 2, i.e. who have not been invited to an interview, will be informed in writing about their acceptance or rejection.
Applicants who have been invited to an interview will be informed verbally about their acceptance or rejection immediately after the interview and will also receive a written notification.
