The 4th edition of the “International Parkinson’s Disease Symposium” ensures the continuity of the LCSB conference series and constitutes a real platform for discussion and interdisciplinary exchanges about Parkinson’s disease. The 2018 edition will take up important aspects and experiences from previous meetings, while at the same time taking a step forward by bridging the gap between fundamental and clinical research towards integrated care and precision medicine. To this end, the innovative session design used in the precedent editions has been maintained to maximise integration of research results across the traditional research fields: each session will integrate speakers coming from fundamental, translational and clinical research as well as one young researcher.

The two days conference will be organised in six sessions and will address key topics such as “Genetics in Parkinson’s disease”, “New strategies to prevent neurodegeneration”, “Smart devices and sensor-based technologies”, “Is Parkinson’s disease ready for precision medicine?”, “Cohorts as test beds”, “Multidisciplinary approach to PD care”.
