From research to the school lab – Characterization of the enzyme Dld3

(Registration open – 20 seats available)

During this training, you will have the opportunity to attend a scientific lecture on recent research topics in the field of enzymology and metabolism and discuss with experts, to visit a lab of the Luxembourg Center for Systems Biomedicine (LCSB), and to discover the brand-new biology workshop of the Scienteens Lab.

This new workshop focus on an up-to-date and exciting topic directly linked to ongoing research at the LCSB: decoding the metabolism of 2HG, a protein involved in certain rare neuro-metabolic disorders and in some cancers. In the lab, researchers are using yeast cells to study the essential role played by an enzyme (Dld3) in that metabolism. The workshop will present the scientific background underlying this work and the methodologies they are using (cloning, protein analysis).
