During this training, the Scienteens Lab team will present the physics workshop entitled “High-tech research for better solar cells: Does the sun also shine in our labs?”.

After a short introduction about different solar cell technologies, their applications and characterisation, the participants will have the opportunity to test hands-on activities such as the creation of a dye-sensitized solar cell and current-voltage measurements with a sun simulator to determine the efficiency of their solar cell.

Several topics will be discussed during the training, like the importance of photovoltaics for renewable energies and current research on solar cell. Participants will also discover different scientific concepts (bandgap, photoelectric effect, etc.) and learn more about operating principles of solar cells, as well as their optical and electrical properties.

This workshop will be conducted in English.
