Due to the accidental activation of a fire-extinguishing system on Friday, 18 October, The Stacks book storage on level -2 of the Luxembourg Learning Centre (LLC), which is usually open to the public, is temporarily closed to safeguard the collections.

The LLC staff, supported by the logistics and security departments, is making every effort to reopen this space as soon as possible.

The vast majority of the books stored in this space remains available to the users on demand. Please ask the staff during the opening hours from Monday to Saturday from 10.00 to 17.00 or via email at askalibrarian@uni.lu.

Unfortunately though, a certain number of documents were impacted by the activation of the fire-extinguishing system in this room. These documents are currently unavailable. The restoration and release of the books may take several months.

The books that are stored in “The Stacks” are referenced under “The Stacks” in the A-Z.lu catalogue. The LLC staff will be able to inform users about the availability of the requested documents.

We thank you for your understanding regarding this incident, which was beyond our control. It has strengthened our commitment which strengthens us in our commitment to ensure your access to the collections.
