To protect the communities we live in, the Luxembourg Learning Centre (LLC) now requires its visitors to book their presence in advance, being open to a maximum of 300 people at a time. The decision comes in line with the new legal measures adopted on 14th September 2021 in response to COVID-19.
You can book your spot via Affluences, a mobile application available in the App Store or on Google Play, You can book one of the following options:
- A workspace for the day and time of your choice
- A 30-minute quick visit to borrow/return books or make photocopies/use the printers
- A first registration for new students and users
How to book online
- Log in to Affluences or use the Affluences app installed on your smartphone (App Store or Google Play).
- In the menu, select Luxembourg Learning Centre
- Choose your workspace (see the plan) and the date/time of your visit.
- Enter your University email address (firstname.lastname.00X@student.uni.lu for students or firstname.lastname@uni.lu for staff).
- Don’t forget to confirm your booking via the link received by email.
- You can book your slots up to 4 days in advance (no more than 30 hours over 4 days).
- Remember to cancel your booking if you change your mind to free up the workspace.
Arriving at the LLC
- Scan the QR code at the LLC entrance via the “My Reservations” tab in the Affluences app or with a QR code reader.
- If you do not have a smartphone, you can log in to www.affluences.com/reservation/validate from a computer or ask the librarians at the reception desk to validate your visit.
- Your booking will automatically expire if you are more than 30 minutes late. After this period, the slot will be cancelled and you will not be able to enter the library without making a new booking.
At the moment the LLC is only open to those who have booked in advance. Students and University staff can book directly via the Affluences app. External users should send their requests 24 hours in advance by email to askalibrarian@uni.lu.
Health and safety guidelines
- You must wear a mask at all times for the duration of your visit to the LLC, including when you are sitting at your workspace. It is therefore no longer possible to eat on the premises of the LLC.
- You must wash or disinfect your hands before touching books on the shelves.
- Make sure you comply with social distancing.
- The furniture and workspaces have been adjusted to allow a safe distance between users. The furniture must not be moved.
- Please observe the signage and all instructions given by LLC staff.
- Failure to comply with the health and safety guidelines may lead to a temporary suspension of your Affluences account.
