For quick and easy access to our licensed content, Consortium Luxembourg offers a browser extension. This is an alternative way to access content, while you browse and search the internet as you normally do.

Quick and easy

The Lean Library Browser Extension helps you to access digital content offered by your library, while you browse and search the internet as you normally do.

Go to www.leanlibrary.com/download, install the extension in your browser and select your institution (Bibliothèque nationale de Luxembourg, University of Luxembourg, LIST.lu or LIH.lu). You are all set!

How does it work?

When you browse and search the internet for articles, journals or databases you may find content licensed for you by your library. But because you are not logged in with your library card, you might not have access.

For example, you have to pay for reading an article. In these cases the Lean Library Browser Extension will automatically show you a notification and give you access to the licensed content offered by your library.

You will be asked to login with your current library card.

There’s more!

If your library cannot offer you access to an article, the Lean Library Browser Extension will automatically search for an Open Access version of that article.

Whenever you use Google Scholar or PubMedfor searches, the Lean Library Browser Extension will ensure that articles available through your library are displayed directly in Google Scholar and PubMed.

That way you do not need to configure personal accounts.
