Laptops
Who can borrow a laptop? |
This service is available for students, PhD candidates and UL staff members. You must be registered with the LLC to be able to borrow a laptop. |
Where is the lending machine? |
Laptops can be borrowed on a self-service basis from the lending machine on the ground floor of the Luxembourg Learning Centre, behind the lifts. |
Who can borrow a laptop? |
You will need your student card/library card and your password for the a-z.lu catalogue. Simply follow the instructions on the screen. |
How do I return a laptop? |
You will need your library card and your password for the www.a-z.lu account. Make sure you reconnect both leads so that the computer is registered as having been returned. |
How long can I borrow a laptop for? |
Laptops can be borrowed for one day. They must be returned at the latest 15 minutes before the library closes. Laptops cannot be booked in advance. Laptop loans cannot be renewed. |
What happens if I am late returning a laptop? |
If a laptop is returned late, the user’s borrowing privileges will be suspended for the number of days that the laptop is overdue (e.g. 1 day overdue = borrowing privileges suspended for 1 day). |
What happens if the laptop is damaged or lost? |
If the laptop is overdue, lost or damaged, or in the event of attempted theft, financial and/or administrative sanctions will be imposed. |
Can I use the laptop outside the Luxembourg Learning Centre? |
Laptops can be used outside the library. Carry cases, chargers and anti-theft devices are available on request from the Welcome Zone. |
Terms of use for the laptop loan service
Users may only borrow a laptop if they accept the terms of use displayed on the screen.
I understand and agree that:
- Laptops can only be borrowed for one day. Laptops must be returned at the latest 15 minutes before the library closes.
- Laptops can only be returned to the lending/return machine.
- Users should check that the laptop is in good condition before leaving the library.
- If the laptop is damaged or faulty, the library staff should be informed immediately.
- Laptops are issued on a strictly personal basis; they cannot be requested for another person.
- Laptops can be used outside the library. Carry cases, chargers and anti-theft devices are available on request from the library reception, in the Welcome Zone.
- The library is not responsible for saving the user’s data.
- If the laptop is overdue, lost or damaged, or in the event of attempted theft, financial and/or administrative sanctions will be imposed.
