In September 2021 I joined the Institute for Research on Multilingualism as a doctoral researcher under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ingrid de Saint-Georges. The working title of my dissertation is . My research explores the notions of nature that are expressed, shaped, challenged, re-constructed and reinforced in the discourses of ordinary citizens who are highly engaged in environmental activities. The project is situated in the field of Discourse Studies, and I adopt ethnographic approaches to research the issue. I hold a Bachelor of Arts diploma in German Studies from Beijing Foreign Studies University and a Master of Arts diploma in Learning and Communication in Multilingual and Multicultural Contexts from the University of Luxembourg.
My main working languages are English and German, while I speak Mandarin Chinese as mother tongue and hold the certificate ‘Lëtzebuergesch als Friemsprooch 1. Diplom (B1)’.
I have been engaging in qualitative research since my Bachelor study. Besides exploring the discourses on nature and human-nature relationships, I am also interested in inquiring into questions related to intercultural communication and relationships between languages and identities. My Master thesis (supervisor: Prof. Dr. Gabriele Budach) is titled . I appreciate the opportunities to engage in mentoring and teaching. I was employed as a peer tutor in English and German at the Language Centre of University of Luxembourg. I acted as member of the examining committee for several Master thesis defences, and am currently supervising Lourdes Angélica Salas Berrocal’s Master thesis “The intercultural mediation section in internal communication in economic workplace sector in Luxembourg: a need? A case study” (starting date: September 2022).
