INSIDE - Integrative Research Unit on Social and Individual DevelopmentGlobalization, digitalisation and demographic developments are changing the way we live. Understanding the individual and social implications of these challenges requires in-depth knowledge of the social and behavioural sciences, as well as innovative inter-disciplinary research. This is the mission of the Integrative Research Unit on Social and Individual Development (INSIDE). INSIDE research focuses on real-life problems using an inter-disciplinary approach. It relies on synergies with national and international institutions and enterprises in elaborating and managing new research. The research unit has an important impact on Luxemburgish society, by consulting governmental authorities at the national and local level (evidence based policy making) and by contributing to social and educational work. Research topics in INSIDE such as youth, childhood and old age, social care and inequality, and health and behaviour are all linked to the research priorities of the University primarily in Health and Systems Biomedicine and Data Modelling and Simulation as set out in the current Four-Year Plan (2018-2021). The unit hosts researchers from Psychology, Sociology, Economics, the Educational Sciences and Social Work. In the recent external evaluation of research units of the University of Luxembourg INSIDE achieved an excellent result and is ranked among the top five research units in the University.
