The unit provides research findings and expertise in key areas of social and individual development, such as health, well-being, social and economic welfare and inequality, comprising the whole life span from early childhood, adolescence, adulthood to old age.

Three main objectives inspire research activities in INSIDE

  • Generating scientific knowledge, based on interdisciplinary research at a national and international level
  • Developing new training programmes for new skills and different target groups across the life span, including undergraduate and Master programmes, PhD programmes and advanced vocational training
  • Consulting and providing advice to policy-makers
