Thorsten Doherr (CREA Supervisor: Katrin Hussinger)

Research interests: big data applications for economic use
 
Thorsten Doherr studied computer science at the University of Applied Sciences in Mannheim until 1993. Since 1995, he is working as a computer scientist at the Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW), Department "Industrial Economics and International Management". After decades of providing PhD students with data, generated with complex methods, it was time to become one of them as an external PhD Student at the University of Luxembourg continuing the work on big data applications in conjunction with economic research.

Simona Wagner (CREA Supervisor: Katrin Hussinger)

Simona Wagner studied economics at the University of Heidelberg and the Portland State University in Oregon until 2013. Since February 2014, she has been a researcher at ZEW's Research Department "Industrial Economics and International Management". She is an external PhD student at the University of Luxembourg evaluating the economic effects of a reform of German insolvency law.
