Angelika Dierolf studied Psychology at the University of Trier (Diplom, MSc equiv., 2010), where she also completed her PhD (2014) within the International Research Training Group “Psychoneuroendocrinology of Stress” (Trier-Leiden/NL), funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG).

Her research foci include

  • impact of age on pain perception and pain modulation
  • the psychobiology of stress
  • Influence of stress on executive function
  • Neurophysiological basis of hypnotic trance and suggestion
  • Psychophysiological research methods (EEG, ECG)
  • Interoception, stress and mental disorders associated with physical symptoms (e.g., somatoform disorders)

She is currently working with the project of Dr. Marian van der Meulen ““Age-related Changes in Human pain perception and modulation: Evidence from functional brain imaging” (ACHE).” – funded by: The Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR).
