Arthur Limbach-Reich is Associate Professor in Social and Educational Sciences at Luxemburg University, Disability Officer and national expert at the Academic Network of European Disability experts (ANED).
He graduated in Educational Sciences in 1990 (Dipl. Päd.) and Psychology in 1992 (Dipl. Psych). During his professional work in the field of disability (1993-2003) he obtained his PhD in 2001 by a study about self-injurious behaviour and care givers reactions. From 1997 to 2003 he taught at the IEES in special education and inclusive pedagogy. With the creation of the University of Luxembourg he was one of the very few pioneers to establish disability work within higher education in Social and Educational Sciences. Committed in disability work he initiated different surveys about accessibility and barriers at the University of Luxembourg and analysed processes of exclusion and inclusion at the national educational system. After having become associate professor at the FLSHASE Arthur Limbach-Reich set his focus on employability and higher education by launching several research projects about the employability of university leavers in social and educational sciences. He initiated and collaborates in different national surveys about employability and processes of transition from higher education to labour market (e.g. Attorneys, Economists, Engineers, Psychologists …).
His recent research topics embrace the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) in Luxembourg and the Greater-Region and Evaluation of Higher Education in Social Work.
Arthur Limbach-Reich is member of the DGfE (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Erziehungswissenschaft / German Educational Research Association -GERA) and member in the sections of social work and special education. He is a Member of the Academic Network of European Disability experts (ANED) and is involved with the European Agency for Development in Special Needs Education (EADSNE) as a member in the Higher Education Accessibility Guide group (HEAG).
