Associate Professor in Urban Regeneration (m/f)

Your Role

The Associate Professor in Urban Regeneration will provide excellent scientific impetus for fundamental research on urban development in the 21st century and will contribute to the study of urban planning challenges at regional, national and cross-border levels. Considering contemporary urban planning discourses and the ongoing territorial transition, the professorship will focus on urban regeneration processes. The candidate must demonstrate excellent theoretical and practical references in the socio-ecological transition of urbanised territories, both built and unbuilt.

At the academic level, the associate professor will add the keystone within the university in terms of geographical and architectural research. She/he will substantially consolidate the Master in Architecture in research and teaching. In addition, specific interventions are planned in the neighbouring teaching programmes (e.g. FCAT - Formation Continue en Aménagement du Territoire or MAGEO - Master in Geography and Spatial Planning).

The Department of Geography and Spatial Planning and the Master in Architecture of the Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences provides an interdisciplinary and international research environment, focusing on socio-ecological transformation processes. The department is well embedded in international research networks as it is connected with local, regional and national stakeholders. The professorship will not only complement the department’s current research portfolio, but will also have the opportunity to engage with a variety of research endeavours in the department, the faculty, and beyond.

Your Profile

• PhD in Architecture, Spatial Planning, Urban Geography or a cognate discipline;
• at least three years of PostDoc experience;
• an excellent publication record;
• experience in teaching at Bachelor and Master level, including composition and project design;
• ability to work in a multilingual environment;
• a strong commitment to interdisciplinarity in teaching and research.

Languages
