Yesterday: Migrants – Today: Citizens. Critical reflections on the significance of a migration literature from an intercultural perspective

Postdoc-Project

Project leader: Hamid Tafazoli
Duration: 1 October 2013-30 September 2015

The research project discussed the notion of “migration literature” as a problematic term, showing that it does not so much provide the basis for a text-analytical approach, but is used instead as a base from which to draw on biographical data. The literary-theoretical approach was therefore confirmed in its dealing with the concept of the other as one of the fundamental terms of research on interculturality in German studies, whose concept was used to understand the tension between “guest worker” and “migration literature”.
