Yimin Zhang joined the Research Institute of Multilingualism (MLing) as a Doctoral Researcher in September 2021. The working title of her dissertation is Volunteering in multilingual Luxembourg: the nexus between linguistic diversity, personal trajectory and social engagement.
Yimin holds a Bachelor of Arts diploma in German Studies from Beijing Foreign Studies University and a Master of Arts diploma in Learning and Communication in Multilingual and Multicultural Contexts from the University of Luxembourg. Since September 2021, she has been conducting her doctoral research under the supervision of Prof. Dr Ingrid de Saint-Georges. During her academic journey, she had the chance to visit other academic institutions including Georg-August-Universität Göttingen (2017-2018) and Universitetet i Oslo (2022).
Yimin’s research interests include Cultural and Sociolinguistic Studies. She is motivated to inquire into the questions related to the influence of linguistic and cultural diversity on individuals utilizing qualitative methodology.
