Brian Kessler joined the Department of Social Sciences as a PhD student in September 2021 as part of the PROPEL Project.

Brian has a background in applied economics and public policy, specializing in macroeconomic forecasting, public finance, and programme evaluation. His research interests include taxation and budgeting, infrastructure financing and financial instruments, and inequality. Brian completed an MA in Applied Economics at Johns Hopkins University in 2013: since then, he has been working as a consultant for public sector clients in the US and EU.

Brian is doing his PhD in the context of the PROPEL Project under Prof. Lindsay Flynn, where he will focus on housing policies and inequality.
