The Research Group for European Governance (EuroGov) is an interdisciplinary research center (constitutional law, philosophy of law & politics, comparative politics and sociology) centered on European, Legislative and Comparative Political Studies.

The Research Group for European Governance (EuroGov) has internationally recognized research strengths in the areas of:

The Research Group for European Governance (EuroGouv) brings together the following entities:

Jean Monnet Networking Governance (GOVUNET- Jean Monnet Action) : University of Aegean-Jean Monnet Chair; University of Piraeus- Jean Monnet Chair; University of Luxembourg- Research Chair in Parliamentary Studies; Université Catholique de Louvain- Institute for European studies; University Babeş-Bolyai University - Faculty of European studies; University of Siegen- Chair ad Personam Jean Monnet; University of Cádiz- Chair Jean Monnet

In collaboration with the Institute of philosophy, the IPSE Doctoral School, the Luxembourg School of Religion and Society and the Research Unit in Law, it develops research activities in the above-mentioned fields.

The Research Group for European Governance (EuroGov) is a member of the European Community Studies Association and the European Consortium for Political Research. It supports the Luxembourg Political Science Association (Luxpol), member of the International Political Science Association (IPSA).

The European Commission, the Council of Europe, the Government of Luxembourg, the Chamber of Deputies of Luxembourg and the Fonds National de la Recherche are funding its research activities.

The working languages of the Research Group for European Governance (EuroGov) are English and French.

European Governance Research Programme 2004-2014

The European Governance Research Programme was founded in 2004 and it is principally composed of political scientists, historians and philosophers.

The programme adopts an interdisciplinary and comparative approach in its treatment of European questions.

The Research Programme's objectives include the development of research and teaching projects, the support of foreign researchers and interns, and the development of collaborative relationships with research centres, foundations and universities, which focus on European and Comparative questions.

The Programme hosts the Consortium for Comparative Research on Regional Intergration and Social Cohesion (RISC).

The Programme organized the annual conference of the International Political Science Association (IPSA) in Luxembourg, March 18-20, 2010, on the topic: Is there a European Model of Governance? A comparative perspective. It was supported in this endeavour by the European Commission, the Government of Luxembourg, the Fondation Alphonse Weicker and the Fondation européenne des sciences politiques.

In September 2009, the Programme obtained a Jean Monnet chair ad personam in European modern history (René Leboutte). In March 2008, it inherited a bibliographic collection of outstanding dimension from the European Investment Bank. Its library is thereby being completed by more than 10000 books and documents, making it a sizable asset for EU researchers.

In september 2010, it launched an innovative bilingual (English/French) academic Master in European Governance, which combines: a strong core of teaching on European Politics and Policy; a broader interdisciplinary curriculum on European integration; and a series of practitioner-led seminars providing unique insights into the processes of European decision-making.

In July 2011, it was awarded a research chair in Parliamentary Studies (Philippe Poirier) from the Chamber of Deputies of Luxembourg.

In April 2013, in collaboration with Luxembourg Political Science Association, the Programme organized the 5ème congrès des associations francophones de science, Political Regimes and their Transformations in the XXI century.
