Branimir Stanimirov is a PhD candidate in the University of Luxembourg. He is currently conducting research under the supervision of Prof. Robert Harmsen on the role of the European Union (EU) as a global actor in the field of human rights. Prior to this, Branimir worked at the C2 DH of the University of Luxembourg on a project exploring the development of a common European Security Strategy in the early Cold War period and was responsible for the examination of the archives of the Western European Union. He holds a M.A. degree in International Relations from the European Institute in Nice, France and a M.A. degree in European Political and Administrative Studies from the College of Europe in Bruges, Belgium. His research interests are related to the fields of human rights, the EU’s global role, international relations, political theory and the region of South-East Europe.
