The University of Luxembourg is pleased to announce the following academic promotions.

Promotions to the rank of full professor:

• Benoît Majerus - Centre for Contemporary and Digital History
• Nicolas Navet - Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine
• Danièle Waldmann - Department of Engineering, Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine

Promotions to the rank of associate professor:

• Stephanie Kreis - Department of Life Sciences and Medicine, Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine
• Gabriele Lenzini - Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust

Promotions to the rank of assistant professor:

• Anna-Lena Högenauer - Department of Social Sciences, Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences
• Carole Linster - Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine
• André Schulz - Department of Behavioural and Cognitive Sciences, Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences

These appointments are based on the new competitive promotion mechanism introduced by the University law of 2018. Promotions are limited to a maximum of 25% of all new positions created since January 2017. 37 candidates were assessed both on their own merit and relative to other candidates in the pool of applicants, by internal and external committees. Assessment areas include research and scholarship, teaching with a commitment to academic and pedagogical excellence, knowledge and technology transfer, administration and management.
