Fellowship Programme for Ukrainian Researchers

 

The Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT) at the University of Luxembourg offers ten fellowships to doctoral candidates, post-doctoral candidates, or other researchers who have recently fled Ukraine due to the war.

What We Offer

  • Fellowships of six months, with the opportunity to extend
  • Funding for cost of living
  • Funding for accommodation
  • Student Insurance Program (SIP), a special insurance package that covers people staying abroad on a temporary basis. SIP has been specially designed for students, scientists, members of the educational staff, and accompanying family members (spouse or children).
  • Status as visiting researcher / visiting doctoral candidate at University of Luxembourg
  • Access to central services of the university (library, email, and office space if available)
  • Integration into an existing research team and, for doctoral candidates, supervision by a faculty member.

Financial Support

The support provided by SnT consists of a €50 daily allowance, up to a maximum of €1250 for visiting doctoral candidates and €1500 for visiting researchers. An additional €1000 per month will be provided for accommodation upon presentation of supporting documents. In case there are no accommodation costs, this allowance cannot be provided. 

How To Apply

Applicants should send the following information in English:

  • A CV indicating status / position in Ukraine (e.g., doctoral candidate at University of ...)
  • A copy of identity card, resident card or passport
  • A copy of the temporary protection (TP) certificate (holding a TP from another EU member state may facilitate incoming visit, but the candidate will have to reapply for TP status on arrival in Luxembourg prior to being hosting by the University of Luxembourg)
  • A letter of motivation, indicating the SnT team with which the candidate would like to integrate

Selection

The selection is made by the head of groups at SnT on the academic merit of the applicant.
