Andriy Panchenko awarded the KuVS prize for best dissertation

SnT Research Associate Dr.-Ing. Andriy Panchenko was awarded the KuVS prize for the best dissertation 2010 in Germany for his thesis Anonymous Communication in the Age of the Internet. 

The thesis enhances the state-of-the-art in the field of anonymous communication and contributes to a broader understanding of the topic and its primitives within the community of researchers as well as creates solid fundamentals for designs of the systems empowering users with tools for strengthening their privacy protection on the Internet.

The special interest group KuVS (Kommunikation und Verteilte Systeme / Communication and Distributed Systems) is part of the GI (Gesellschaft für Informatik / German Computer Science Society) and the IT society of VDE (Verband der Elektrotechnik, Elektronik und Informationstechnik / Association of Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies), one of Europe's largest technical-scientific associations with 35,000 members. The professional group KuVS includes more than 1,000 members from academia, research, and industry. The prize awards 500€ for outstanding dissertation and will be presented at the conference for Communication and Distributed Systems in Kiel, Germany in March 2011.
