‘The Inaugural Women’s Entrepreneurship Day’ (WED) supported by SnT was held at the University of Luxembourg on Wednesday 19 November 2014. The event attracted more than 150 participants only in Luxembourg and was celebrated in other 144 countries worldwide.

WED Luxembourg was opened by Marjut Santoni, deputy chief executive of the European Investment Fund. A panel of female leaders and entrepreneurs followed the discussion, among them SnT researcher Dr. Patrice Caire, sharing inspiring stories and achievements of her research in Robotic Homecare Assistance.

Women’s Entrepreneurship Day is a worldwide movement supporting female entrepreneurs on every continent. The defining goal is to empower women and their businesses, as well as gather a think tank of female leaders.

Today, there are more than 3.6 billion women in the world, yet the World Economic Forum reports that no nation has achieved gender equality. Women only have access to 58-70% of the economic, educational, health and political resources and opportunities available to men.

WED movement is working to change that!
