Chitra Shukla received her Ph.D. degree from the Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (JIIT, Noida, U.P., India) in 2015. She was then awarded JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship in Japan and further held several research positions in China. Her research interests are quantum communication and cryptography, quantum secure direct communication (QSDC) and its applications to the quantum networks, focusing on developing new quantum/semi-quantum communication and cryptographic protocols/algorithms along with analyzing and improving the security and efficiency of existing protocols of secure quantum communication. In addition, her research includes the study of quantum noise models on quantum communication channels and quantum information processing tasks such as entanglement concentration/purification protocols. Her recent interest focuses on the applications of quantum machine learning to quantum cryptography. Chitra joined the Signal Processing & Satellite Communications research group, SIGCOM, headed by Prof. Symeon Chatzinotas.
