Nicola Maturo received his M.S. Degree in Electronic Engineering (cum laude) from the Polytechnic University of Marche, Ancona (Italy), in 2012 and his Ph.D. on Telecommunication Engineering in the same University, in 2015. From January 2016 to July 2017 he was a Post-Doctoral Researcher at the Department of Information Engineering of the Polytechnic University of Marche, where he worked on error correcting coding techniques under some ESA research projects. From November 2015 to May 2016 he was consultant for Deimos Engenharia, Lisbon (Portugal), working on spectral estimation algorithms for the definition of an autonomous TT&C transponder. Since August 2017 he is a Research Associate at the Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust of the University of Luxembourg where he joined the Signal Processing & Satellite Communications group - SIGCOM headed by Prof. Björn Ottersten. His research activities are mainly focused on error correcting codes and decoding algorithms. He is a member of the CCSDS Coding and Synchronization Working Group where he provided some contribution in the definition of the new CCSDS Telecommand links recommendation. He collaborated with University of Bologna and DLR (Munich) on decoding algorithms for Non-Binary LDPC codes; with Deimos Engehnaria (Lisbon) and Thales-Alenia Space (Rome) on decoding algorithm for short LDPC codes; with Polytechnic of Torino on advanced coding schemes for satellite communication in channel afflicted by jamming and with Arpsoft (Rome) on reliable TT&C during superior solar conjunction.
