Projects

NetLab is active in many national (FNR-funded) and international projects (EU-funded).

OUTSMART (FP7-PPP), LiveCity (CIP), MOVE (FNR-CORE) and I-GEAR (FNR-CORE) contribute to the future smart city by designing secure and pervasive solutions for smart resource management, smart mobility, ambient-assisted living, education and emergency services. Future proposals submitted in December 2012 to the FP7 call SMARTCITIES will come to strengthen this direction, which complements ongoing research collaboration with EPT on vehicular networks and smart homes, and with Ville de Luxembourg on smart city.

The FP7 project IoT6 and the EU-funded study of IPv6 Deployment Monitoring led by NetLab aim at proposing an IPv6-based architecture to respond to the challenges of the Internet of Things raised by the projects above. Interoperability and security questions for governmental and more particularly emergency services are being addressed in the FREESIC (FP7) and the GEN6 (CIP) projects. These projects base their research on the results of past projects run by NetLab: u2010 (FP6), NARTUS (FP6), SECRICOM (FP7) and EFIPSANS (FP7).
