SERENADE Demonstrator at SES Industry Days 2017

From 16-17 May 2017 the SIGCOM research group were delighted to present their 'SERENADE' Satellite Precoding Hardware Demonstrator at SES Industry Days 2017. The demo proved popular, with professionals from across the satellite industry keen to learn about its capabilities.

SERENADE is a demonstrator of Full Frequency Reuse for Multibeam Satellite Systems using Multi-User Multiple Input Multiple Output (MU-MIMO, also known as Precoding). Characteristics of the DEMO presented at SES Industry Days include:

  • 2x2 MIMO Precoding. ZF and PAC (Per Antenna Constrained).
  • QPSK and 16APSK modulations (FPGA).
  • Pilot symbols and CRC32
  • Video Delivery with two different qualities.
  • Satellite Channel Emulator with TWATA, with AMAM and AMPM characteristics.
