Research Scientists
Being a scientist in our lab entails getting involved in a variety of activities ranging from basic research to applied research and technology transfer. Our lab performs research in collaboration with industry partners. It is therefore important for our scientists to understand our partners’ technologies, objectives, and challenges. We define research objectives, develop and assess tentative solutions in close collaboration. In addition to research activities, the main difference between a university faculty member and a research scientist in our lab is that the latter is expected to spend time on understanding industry practice and transferring industry-strength technology rather than teaching.
Prospective Students
In general, we are looking for students with a strong background and/or interest in any of the following areas: software verification and validation, model-driven development, quality assurance, and empirical software engineering. In our lab, students are expected to spend significant time working with industry partners, on industry relevant problems, and with real systems. That way, they not only acquire scientific expertise but also a thorough understanding of technological areas that are directly relevant to large industrial sectors. Ph.D. students in Luxembourg are offered outstanding working and financial conditions, that are far superior to most other systems in the world.
The working language of our laboratory is English.
