The Bachelor en Cultures Européennes – Etudes françaises offers you the opportunity to specialise in French Language and Literature. Combining both tradition and modernity, the study programme will allow you to involve yourself in the analysis of a wide range of topics and discussions, critical reflection on our world and the chance to express yourself creatively within our framework.

 

 

Learning outcomes

 Knowledge :

  • Knowledge of modern and contemporary French literature;
  • Acquisition of a foundation in different domains concerning language and linguistic sciences;
  • Awareness of tools allowing for the analysis of art pieces and media discourse;
  • Development of multilingual skills through the course of perfecting other living languages and literatures;
  • Familiarisation with Latin.

 Skills :

  • Development of observational competencies through the analysis of literary and non-literary discourses;
  • Understanding, organisation and synthesizing of research questions, statements and work through writing exercises;
  • Development of oral competencies through a focus on presentations;
  • Development of group work skills.

Future prospects

  • Access to a Master degree at the University of Luxembourg and abroad in French literature/language and related subjects;
  • Prepares for a teaching career in French;
  • Prepares for careers in journalism, editing, media, libraries, etc.
