Bachelor en Cultures Européennes - Germanistik

Language Requirements

The Bachelor en Cultures Européennes is a trilingual programme that actively promotes multilingualism and code-switching between languages. Although you can apply and complete the programme with bilingual combinations of English and German or English and French, we encourage you to take this opportunity to learn and study in a third language.

Step 1

Verified Language Skills in German

The Bachelor en Cultures Européennes – Germanistik requires you to have a proficiency level of at least C1 in German.

All candidates who obtained their school leaving qualification in a German-speaking country (Luxembourg, Germany, Austria, German-speaking Switzerland, German-speaking Belgium) do not need to present language qualifications. All other candidates can increase their chances of admission by adding one the following certificates to their application:

  • TestDaF mit Niveaustufe 4 oder 5 in allen vier Kompetenzen.
  • Deutsches Sprachdiplom der Kultusministerkonferenz (DSD), zweite Stufe
  • Sprachzeugnisse des Goethe-Instituts (Zentrale Oberstufenprüfung, Kleines/Großes Sprachdiplom)
  • Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang ausländischer Studienbewerber (DSH), Stufe II

Attention: International applications (Non-EU diploma) must contain proof of proficiency in the languages of instruction in the programme (please consult our guidelines about the Language Requirements for International/Non-EU Students).

Step 2

Verified Language Skills in English and French

Because the common curriculum of our programme (60 ECTS) is trilingual, you will need:

  • verified language skills (B2) in a second language (English or French);
  • an A2 level in a third language (English or French) is highly recommended.

Please note that we offer limited places for bilingual candidates (German+French / German+English) who want to acquire linguistic competences in their third language during their studies. Do not hesitate to contact us for further information.
