Bachelor en Cultures Européennes - Philosophie

About Our Programme

Philosophy studies form an integral part of the Bachelor en Cultures Européennes. The study cycle consists of 6 semesters.

During the course of your studies, you will acquire 180 ECTS credits, 120 through Philosophy and 60 through Cultures Européennes. A mobility semester is planned during your 5th semester.

Learning outcomes and goals

The goal of this specialisation track is to introduce Philosophy and its theoretical and practical methodological framework to the students. At the end of your studies you will have acquired extensive knowledge on contemporary topics, thanks to the ability to analyse and study a topic or text in depth, followed by arguing and commenting the subject matter in a logical and well-structured manner.

The students will acquire the following competencies:

  • Critical analysis and interpretation of texts;
  • Abstract and logical reasoning, presenting appropriate solutions to problems;
  • Research and synthesis of information;
  • Aptitude in effective communication and scientific application;
  • Interdisciplinary engagement.

 

Future prospects

As a graduate of the Bachelor en Cultures Européennes – Philosophie, you will be eligible to apply for a Master degree in Philosophy or Humanities related fields, for example the Master in Modern and Contemporary European Philosophy at the University of Luxembourg. In combination with an MA, you will meet the legal requirements for teaching careers in both Philosophy and the formation morale et sociale in Luxembourg. Moreover, you will be prepared for careers in:

  • Journalism and related professions;
  • Publishing;
  • Communications and related professions;
  • Cultural agencies and professions;
  • International organisations;
  • etc.
