Master en Enseignement Secondaire

The Master en enseignement secondaire prepares students to become highly qualified teaching professional in the Luxembourg school system.

A tailor-made teacher training programme

The Master en enseignement secondaire offers four tracks:

The programme is specially designed for students who already hold a Bachelor’s degree in German Studies, Romance Studies or Mathematics. To be eligible for  the Luxembourgish Studies track, a Bachelor's degree in philology or cultural studies is expected.

Students are enabled to deepen their knowledge in the respective fields and develop the skills needed for teaching in classroom settings.

Acquire solid theoretical, practical and educational knowledge

In addition to courses in the core subject areas, the curriculum includes classes in educational sciences, educational sociology and psychology to provide students with the necessary skills to understand and face the challenges of teaching and learning a multicultural and multilingual school system.
The programme puts a special focus on issues specific to Luxembourg such as multilingualism, multiculturality and integration and equips students with the needed pedagogical tools and methods to address them adequately.

They are jointly organised with other Master’s programmes of the Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences (FHSE) and the Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine (FSTM):
