Learning Objectives

National Assembly of Mauritius

  • Focus on learnings on the conditions of preparation, deliberation, execution and evaluation of legislation so-called “co-legislative” bodies, within a multi-level governance system. The aforementioned bodies are Parliaments, Constitutional Courts, Court of Auditors and related parties, Councils of State and related parties, Ombudspersons and related parties, etc.
  • Align learnings on the nature of and conditions of interaction between the so-called "co-legislative" institutions with the lobbying groups making up "civil society" and the media on the one hand and, on the other hand, the effects of compliance and their limits with international and European public organisations for governance and co-operation in the legal and political field, such as the Council of Europe, the International Organisation of the Francophonie, the Organisation of American States, the European Union, etc.
  • Train the staff of co-legislative bodies and lobbying groups on public ethics, cultural, economic, scientific, technological challenges, to be encountered by 21st century law, within a multidisciplinary perspective.
