What is BICS ? 

It is an acronym that stands for our academic Bachelor In Computer Science

What is the difference between BICS and BINFO?

BICS has no common courses with the BINFO
BICS prepares you to continue your studies in a master programme. 
BICS is a scientific program meaning that you must be interested by one or more of those terms: precision, rigor, quality, method, deduction, logic, structure, abstraction.
BICS prepares you to pursue your studies in an academic master related to computer sciences.

Are there gateways between BiCS and BINFO?

There are no gateway from BICS to BINFO or from BINFO to BICS except the possibility to apply for admission to the first semester or to the third semester as any other applicant. The programme director will judge and decide the acceptance conditions.

What are the language requirements?

Advised Minimum CEFR levels at Entry:

  • English: B2
  • French or German: B1

Is there a need for a language certificate to enter the BICS?

No, language input levels indicated are advises to help you to determine the effort you will have to do to be able to succeed in our studies.

APPLICATION

Can I apply to enter the BICS at any semester ?

You are able to apply to any open semester of the BICS. The decision of your acceptance will depend on the equivalence of the other courses you have officially validated and on the acceptance of the BICS director.

Can I apply to the BICS even if I do not have my high school diploma yet?

Yes, you should apply as soon as possible and you will have until end of August to communicate the remaining documents.

Can an international "A-level" high school diploma can be accepted?

Yes if and only if you have validated at least 4 A-levels

Can a high school diploma of technical level be accepted?

Any baccalaureate is accepted to the BICS. However, this bachelor is, above all, a scientific training and, as this bachelor has a numerus clausus, if your diploma is more technical than scientific, we will pay a particular attention to the contents of your letter of motivation. This letter must show us what, in your opinion, makes you a suitable candidate to successfully complete this scientific training.

Do I need some specific knowledge in programming and coding to enroll the BiCS's first year?

 You do not need previous experience in programming, you need:
- interest in science and digital technologies
- a strong motivation to work enough to acquire the knowledge we will transfer you

I am in the waiting list, can I now my ranking ?

No, since your ranking changes until the last day. All applications are ranked based on the selection criteria. If N positions are available then the N first applicants in the waiting list will be accepted. There are three dates at which applications in waiting list status are re-considered which are middle of July, middle of August and end of August. At those dates a number of positions to be allocated to waiting list students is defined, the waiting list students are ordered and the available positions are allocated according to the ordering.
