Master en Enseignement Secondaire (professionnel)

The Master in Secondary Education prepares students to become highly qualified teaching professionals in the Luxembourg school system.

In Short

The Master en enseignement secondaire offers four tracks:

The programme is specially designed for students who already hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, German Studies or Roman Studies. To be eligible for the Luxembourgish Studies track, a Bachelor's degree in philology or cultural studies is expected.

Students are enabled to deepen their knowledge in the respective fields and develop the skills needed for teaching in various classroom settings.

Acquire solid theoretical, practical and educational knowledge

In addition to courses in the core subject areas, the curriculum includes classes in didactics, in educational sciences, educational sociology and psychology to provide students with the necessary skills to understand and face the challenges of teaching and learning in a multicultural and multilingual school system.

The programme puts a special focus on issues specific to Luxembourg such as multilingualism, multiculturality and integration, and equips students with the needed pedagogical tools and methods to address them adequately. It is jointly organised with other Master’s programmes of the Faculty of Science, Technology and Communication (FSTC) and the Faculty of Language and Literature, Humanities, Arts and Education (FLHASE):

Changes from the 'Master in Secondary Education in Mathematics' to the 'Master in Mathematics' and vice versa are possible.
