Science Communication Internship

The Internships give the doctoral candidates the possibility to practice their science communication skills. At the UL or at one of our partner institutes, the interns will obtain hands-on experience in science communication while participating in one or more activities accompanied by professionals in the field. Furthermore, apart from receiving ECTS points, doctoral candidates gain the opportunity to get to know the working environment and daily tasks in communication departments or institutes specializing on public outreach.

More information about the internships and how to apply can be found here as well as on Moodle.

Outreach activities

As our main aim is to support interactions between academia and the public, we designed several outreach activities on different topics, targeting different audiences and using different means of communication.

For instance, we developed science comics about research in Luxembourg.

Pocket Guide

We will develop a Pocket Guide on science communication to provide theoretical and practical knowledge on science communication for interested researchers. The guide will outline the theoretical background of science communication and provide practical help to apply the knowledge in a number of different contexts. Once established, it will also serve as preparatory material for all training activities of DESCOM.

Interested researchers from the University of Luxembourg wishing to have some guidance now, can find useful help in the already existing, short Researcher’s Communication Guide.
