Volume 2 of the science comic "LUX:plorations - A Universe of Research" can be seen in the context of an exhibition at the Luxembourg Science Center from 25 January - 24 February 2022. Visitors will have the opportunity to read the comics in different languages, leave their feedback and take a hard copy of the comics with them to share with friends and family.
Furthermore, doctoral candidates will offer short science workshops of around 15 minutes related to the topics covered in the LUX:plorations comics. The exact dates and topics of the workshops can soon be found here or on the social media platforms of the Luxembourg Science Center. The workshops will take place in the LSC Studio and don't require any additional tickets than the regular entrance ticket to the Luxembourg Science Center (see link below). Workshops are available on the following topics:

The comics have been developed by 21 doctoral candidates from different fields of research in Luxembourg. They collaborated with Luxembourgish comic artists Pascale Velleine, Marion Dengler, Valérie Minelli, Ingo Schandeler and Robert Soisson in order to produce eight short stories about different topics in science and research. Snejana Granatkina drew the cover illustrations and portraits of the participants.
The comics have been produced in the context of the DESCOM (Doctoral Education in Science Communication) project, which aims to support interactions between academia and the public by providing different modes of training in science communication. DESCOM as well as the comics and the associated workshops are supported by the Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR) as well as the Doctoral School in Science and Engineering (DSSE) and the Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine (FSTM).
