Master en Sciences de l’Ingénieur – Efficacité Énergétique et Économique


The final target of the study program is the industrial engineer, i.e. an engineer with technical competences in thermodynamics, energy efficiency of buildings and processes and expandable knowledge in business administration. The graduate:

  • Can understand thermodynamic cycles,
  • Has profound knowledge in building services engineering,
  • Can assess technical uncertainties and energy efficiencies,
  • Elaborates energy concepts for different types of buildings and residential areas,
  • Proposes renovation scenarios for housings,
  • Assesses projects economically after having considered the technical risks,
  • Prepares business plans.

The study programme is run:

  • in cooperation with the University of Lorraine in Nancy;
  • in collaboration with the engineering and electronics companies Siemens, Bosch and Paul Wurth, as well as the European Investment Bank (EIB).

Their active contribution is proving their interest and is testimony to the quality of the programme.

The mobility of both students and lecturers provides an international approach to energy issues and the opportunity to learn foreign languages. This programme is run under an ERASMUS agreement.

How to provide sustainable energy solutions to our society is one of the major questions of our century. To tackle this issue profound technical and economical knowledge will be given to the students:

  • By interacting with research. For a number of years Universities of Luxembourg and Lorraine have been undertaking research in Engineering Sciences in the field of energy efficiency. The Faculty of Law Economics and Finance adds the additional competence of experience and research in the economical sciences;
