Teaching
The UNESCO Chair in Human Rights pursues several activities in the education of human rights.
Within the University:
- Offer courses on human rights in general or particular aspects of these rights in Bachelor and Master programmes:
- Raise the awareness of human rights and fundamental freedoms among students as well as the academic and administrative staff of the University of Luxembourg
- Provide tutoring for students
- Organise conferences, symposia and seminars
And beyond:
- Offer short courses for members of institutions active in the field of human rights, for officials and employees of the various ministries as well as for police officials among others
- Support teaching and awareness programs on fundamental rights and freedoms
- Organise courses on human rights within the context of the training of primary and secondary school teachers, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education
- Contribute to the European Master’s Programme in Human Rights and Democratisation of the European Inter-University Centre for Human Rights and Democratisation in Venice
