Teaching

The UNESCO Chair in Human Rights pursues several activities in the education of human rights.
 

Within the University:

• Offer courses on human rights in general or particular aspects of these rights in Bachelor and Master programmes:
  • Bachelor en Droit
  • Bachelor en Cultures Européennes
  • Bachelor en Sciences de l’Education
  • Bachelor en Sciences Sociales et Educatives
  • Master en Droit Européen-LL.M.
  • Master en Histoire Européenne Contemporaine
  • Master in European Governance
• Raise the awareness of human rights and fundamental freedoms among students as well as the academic and administrative staff of the University of Luxembourg
• Provide tutoring for students
• Organise conferences, symposia and seminars

And beyond:

• Offer short courses for members of institutions active in the field of human rights, for officials and employees of the various ministries as well as for police officials among others
• Support teaching and awareness programs on fundamental rights and freedoms
• Organise courses on human rights within the context of the training of primary and secondary school teachers, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education
• Contribute to the European Master’s Programme in Human Rights and Democratisation of the European Inter-University Centre for Human Rights and Democratisation in Venice
