In 2020, Victor Cebotari was appointed as the Strategic Advisor for Academic Affairs at the University of Luxembourg. Prior to his current role, he served as a Senior Programme Coordinator at the UNICEF Global Office of Research and Foresight. Before that, Victor held an academic tenure at Maastricht University that spanned from 2006 to 2016, where he contributed as both a researcher and a lecturer. In 2016, he was a member of the founding team of the Social Policy Research Institute (SPRI), a non-profit organization dedicated to research and services aimed at improving the lives of children and other vulnerable groups. Currently, he also serves as a member of the Board of Trustees at Professors Without Borders, an organization committed to improving global education.
Victor was also a recipient of a Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship, which he pursued at the Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research from 2012 to 2014. An advocate for innovative education and learning methods, Victor is a certified instructor in Problem-Based Learning (PBL). He has designed, delivered, and coordinated courses at several academic institutions, including Maastricht University, University College Maastricht, the United Nations University, and the University of Mauritius.
His research interests focus on education, public policies, child well-being, transnational migration, and both quantitative and qualitative methodologies. Victor has a Ph.D. in Social Protection and Public Policy from Maastricht University.
