The rector

Prof. Dr. Stéphane Pallage took office as rector of  the University of Luxembourg on 1 January 2018. As from 1 April 2019, he serves as acting vice rector for academic affairs.

Prior to joining the University of Luxembourg, he was the Dean of the School of Management at the University of Quebec in Montreal from 2013 to 2017.

Stéphane Pallage started his academic career at the University of Liège. He holds a Master’s degree in Industrial Administration (Finance) and a Ph.D. in economics from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, USA. He was named professor in economics at the University of Quebec in 2003.

The rector heads the rectorate and in this capacity, he is responsible for developing the overall University strategy and institutional policies.

His Office consists of Cassandra Mikicic, senior advisor to the rector in charge of strategic planning and projects, Britta Schlüter, public relations advisor to the rectorate, Kerstin Ebert, executive assistant to the rector, as well as Hana Kuhn, executive assistant – Rectorate organisation and academic personnel.
