CentraleSupélec – Metz Campus is pleased to announce the signing of the first “Memorandum of Understanding” between the University of Luxembourg and CentraleSupélec. The main objective of this agreement between these two institutions is to encourage cooperation and exchanges in areas of mutual academic interest and on their respective models of excellence.
CentraleSupélec and the University of Luxembourg are internationally renowned higher education and research institutions that share a vision for the future. They are both firmly committed to the internationalisation of higher education and research in order to prepare their students for professional careers in an internationally connected world.
A common vision for education and research
Educational and research initiatives may include, for example:
- Developing academic exchanges in the fields of Mathematics, Physics, Digital Sciences and Engineering,
- Sharing internship opportunities,
- Sharing of experience and good pedagogical practices, especially in the field of pedagogical innovation, in order to design training programmes and student projects that respond to the major challenges of today,
- Exchange of teacher-researchers,
- Developing joint programmes, in particular Masters and Doctorate programmes,
- Proposals and partnerships in response to inter-regional and European calls for proposals
- Communication actions and special events
A major initiative for the Metz Campus
The signing of this “Memorandum of Understanding” reinforces a more global dynamic of strategic partnerships in engineering education for CentraleSupélec in the Grand Est region – in particular through collaboration with the Metz Campus and its “Atelier des transitions”, and through an alliance with the Photonics Institute currently being created and its network of partners. Furthermore, it reflects a mutual interest in strong research and innovation themes, particularly around Sustainable Development and photonics.
An important cross-border partnership for the University of Luxembourg, a driving force for international education and innovation
The University of Luxembourg is delighted with the future cooperation with CentraleSupélec, an institution of excellence for both research and education. This agreement is part of an ambitious strategy to promote the sectors of excellence of the University of Luxembourg, which is one of the major pillars of scientific research in the country.
The main areas of collaboration will be with the Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine (FSTM) in the fields of physics, engineering, computer science and mathematics, through the exchange of students at Bachelor and Master levels. In addition, special projects will be carried out with the Metz campus on photonics and sustainable development for both research and education.
This partnership will strengthen academic collaboration and research in Luxembourg and the Greater Region, while reinforcing the international character of the teaching and research facilities.
