New study programmes starting September 2020

The University of Luxembourg introduces new Bachelor and Master study programmes starting in September 2020.

The Bachelor in Medicine builds on an already existing first year of medical studies at the University of Luxembourg and focuses on the early development of clinical skills through simulation training and tutoring by physicians with proven pedagogical abilities.

The Bachelor in Mathematics provides basic knowledge in the fundamental fields of mathematics (algebra, analysis, geometry, probability) as well as concepts from disciplines closely linked to mathematics, such as physics, computer science or mathematics didactics.

The Bachelor in Physics touches on the main areas of physics. It acquaints students with the necessary mathematical tools and allows for specialisation via a wide range of elective courses.

The Bachelor in Engineering provides a solid foundation in the fields of electrotechnics, energy and environment, civil engineering, mechanical engineering and digital engineering. It offers the necessary skills to quickly enter the job market or continue studies for a Master’s degree at the University of Luxembourg or elsewhere.

The Bachelor in Animation is a 2-year curriculum designed by the University of Luxembourg Competence Centre and the Lycée des Arts et Métiers (LAM). The programme teaches the fundamentals in order to enter the animation industry. Theoretical courses are coupled with project-based learning modules.

The Master in Technopreneurship is developed in partnership with the Institut luxembourgeois de la normalisation, de l’accréditation, de la sécurité et qualité des produits et services (ILNAS) and the Luxembourg Lifelong Learning Center (LLLC) of the Chambre des Salariés (CSL). It provides knowledge related to current issues and new developments in the field of smart ICT, such as cloud computing, the Internet of Things, big data, artificial intelligence, blockchains and distributed ledger technologies (DLT).

It also offers practical examples and case studies illustrating the use of technical standardisation as a tool to give common technical language, build trust, and foster effectiveness in Smart ICT. [More info]

The Master in Software Development and Validation is offered in partnership with the University of Franche-Comté. It is taught remotely and entirely online, offering an innovative high-level training in the field of software testing and validation. It aims to train IT managers in understanding the design and development of software with different programming paradigms, and of mastering the skills related to their validation.

The Master of Transnational German Studies targets international and local students. It conveys in-depth cultural-historical, literary and linguistic knowledge, as well as European values of an open society and international, intercultural and transdisciplinary education.

The Master in Legislative Studies focuses on the functioning of contemporary decision-making processes at regional, national, European and international levels. The course blends theoretical and practical approaches and is geared towards the employability of future graduates in the public or private sector.

The Master of Science in Quantitative Economics and Finance is a one-year programme that exposes highly talented students to fundamental research methods in the fields of economics and finance. The programme prepares for careers in academia, public institutions, and upscale jobs in the industry.

The course covers the diverse aspects of risk and opportunity related to sustainability in the economy of tomorrow, offering a theoretically grounded and applied toolkit for an effective and successful starter in sustainable finance. [More info]

Online live-chat sessions for study guidance

The University of Luxembourg will offer live-chat sessions for Bachelor and Master programmes. Course directors and professors will be available to answer questions about all study programmes and application processes.

The sessions for all Bachelor programmes will take place on 08 April from 09.00 to 16.00.

The sessions for all Master programmes will take place 9-10 April from 09.00 to 16.00.
