ShanghaiRanking 2022: Uni.lu ranked among the 800 best universities

The University of Luxembourg ranks among the 701-800 best universities worldwide in the latest 2022 ranking published by the ShanghaiRanking consultancy firm.

The Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) aims to establish the quality of teaching and of research as well as the impact of an institution by evaluating multiple criteria such as the number and impact of scientific publications, citations in top tier journals, international cooperation between academic institutions and the number of Nobel laureates among staff and alumni, as well as other academic awards. ARWU ranks more than 2,500 universities each year and the best 1,000 are published.

The University improved its position in Telecommunications engineering (where it is now listed among the 51 to 75 best universities worldwide, compared to 76-100 in 2021).

The University was newly ranked in Transportation science and technology in the class of the 101 to 150 best universities; in Law among the 201-300 best universities, in Mathematics (among the 301-400 best) and in management (401-500).

In numerous other subjects, the University maintained its rankings from the prior year (in the 201-300 class: Electric and electronic engineering, Computer science, Biological science, Human biological science, Education, Political science; in the class of the 301-400 best: Economics; in the class of the 401-500 best: Chemistry, Psychology).

In the 2021 ARWU, the University ranked among the 601-700 best universities.
