The upcoming Winter Semester 2020/21 at the University of Luxembourg will be taught in a mixture of remote and in-person classes.

The mode of each course depends on the number of participants, the nature of the teaching and the teaching space.

Remote teaching, using live streaming and pre-recorded lectures or events, will apply to large group teaching (lectures – cours magistraux, any large meetings related to teaching).

In-person teaching will be possible for smaller groups, if the size of the teaching space allows. Laboratory and practical work (i.e. travaux pratiques, travaux dirigés) may also be conducted in-person.

Outgoing and incoming mobility remains mandatory next semester, and it will be maintained as much as possible for EU and ERASMUS destinations, but a number of our partners have already cancelled their exchanges for the semester.

Most of the Global Exchange partner universities have cancelled incoming and outward mobility for the Winter Semester. More information will be provided soon.

The winter semester 2020/2021 starts on 14 September 2020.

With its hybrid teaching model, the University is following the same approach as many other European and international universities. The University is committed to ensuring that the academic year can begin as normally as possible, that all students may access the University’s excellent study opportunities, while at the same time protecting the health and safety of students and staff. The University will continue to monitor developments and will adjust teaching modalities as required.

Guidance for studying and teaching remotely is available online.
