The University of Luxembourg has published its “2020 – Year in Review”. The report looks back at the University’s development, key events, activities, successes and achievements in 2020.
2020 was an exceptional year, significantly shaped by the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the highly disruptive effects of the COVID-19 mitigation measures, the continuity of the University’s teaching and research activities could be preserved.
“We did a lot more than just cope with the challenges. Our researchers obtained a record level of funding in 2020 from national and international sources. Teaching was certainly a challenge, but thanks to the dedication of our staff and our students it was delivered continuously in remote mode, in-person and via hybrid formats. Service to society has taken on a new meaning during the pandemic. Many of our researchers provided expert advice to decision makers through the national COVID-19 Task Force set up by the University and the other public research institutions,” says rector Stéphane Pallage.
